Sleeveless Shirts and Shorts- a Big Deal in Vatican
Tourists are strictly prohibited to enter the city-state of Vatican if they adorn themselves in short and sleeveless dresses. At least recent news has revealed the wrath of the Gods on such occasions. Vatican has made it a rule for tourists to maintain a modest dress code whereby a person is only permitted to enter the state on vacation terms if he/she is covering the body satisfactorily.
Any deviation from obeying such rule would actually let the Swiss guards to take strict actions to drive the tourist out of the state. If you are planning a vacation to this holy state make sure you heap your luggage with enough reserved outfits that would allow you to enjoy roaming around and looking for its cultural heritage, all in a carefree style.
At first people were ordered to wear arm and shoulder covering knee length dresses in St. Peter’s Basilica, however now the rule is implemented in entire Vatican causing huge numbers to retaliate against such orthodox views. Many people are finding this regulation unpleasant. Even the inhabitants have to do same to set examples for the tourists who enter the city state territory of Vatican.
Some tourists respected this view and stepped back without raising their voices. However many vacationers have found it to be some sort of bureaucratic barrier to the basic rights of man. Numerous visitors are going against this regimen, as they find it to be absurd. Some women had to purchase scarves in order to cover up their shoulders and arms. They are only allowed to wear knee length dresses. The rule goes out well with men even. Vacationing in Vatican is quite an affair now.
A recent report has revealed that an 80 year old argued with one of the Swiss guards on being prohibited to enter Vatican considering her dress code.
