Family holidays in Sharm el Sheik

Sharm el Sheikh, a small city in Egypt, is one of the most popular holiday destinations for families as well as adventure seekers.
It is on the southern most point of the Sinai Peninsula and offers unforgettable adventures into the desert as well as one of the best diving spots in the world. There are inexpensive packages available for family vacations in Naama Bay which is the centre of the action.

Sharm el Sheik

The contrast between the austere beauty of the desert and the brilliant colours and life of the coral reef has to be seen to be believed. In some diving destinations there are Barracuda, Murray and Sharks seen everyday. Visitors can dive as a day trip or take a diving safari and experience reefs that are further away. Diving safaris cost the same as day trips and are stress-free because they don’t have the same time limit.

For those visitors who would like to see the reefs up close but do not want to dive, there is snorkelling. It’s much easier and gives a fantastic view of the beautiful tropical fish and corals. The Shark Observatory is a cliff that is over 90 metres above the Red Sea and is a good place to see Whale Sharks and Big Pelagic such as trevallies, barracudas and jacks. On the beach where the extreme water sports never stop there is wind surfing, kite surfing, canoeing, parasailing and water skiing.

Divers also visit shipwrecks in the Egyptian Red Sea. There are over 15 major shipwrecks to see as well as numerous other vessels that couldn’t navigate the Red Sea during one of its fierce storms.

On the desert side there is horseback riding into the desert for a day trip as well as camel trekking for a longer stay. The stars at night as seen from the quiet desert are incomparable. You can visit St. Catherine Monastery and Mount Sinai as well as colourful canyons and rest at a hidden oasis.

The nightlife in Sharm el Sheikh is mainly in Naama Bay with restaurants that are open during the day for meals and later convert into nightclubs with live music and dancing. Many are open until dawn. There are also discos and casinos that keep the party going all night. Other activities in the nearby area are golf, fishing, karting and yachting.

For those who want some quiet time while everyone else is out having fun, there are spas that offer health and beauty treatments for rest and rejuvenation. The Old Town has wonderful handmade crafts and souvenirs as well as many other items that may be needed during a holiday.

Sharm el Sheikh is a popular holiday destination for families for a good reason. There is a huge variety of activities to satisfy every interest and the travel packages available are very affordable. Whether relaxing at the beach and having lots of fun with all the water sports, or taking advantage of the chance to visit the ever changing desert that holds ancient secrets, this is a holiday of a lifetime.

Classifications of Hotels – Which Do You Prefer

What are the essentials when you are planning a trip? There is sure to be a long list of to dos; however, two of the most important ones are – arranging for transportation to the place and booking the right accommodation. The same things are important when you are planning a trip to Canberra.

Hotel Canberra

Before you choose any of the Canberra hotels, here is a quick look at the categories of accommodation available.

Luxury hotels – whether it is a five-star posh one or a small boutique one, you are sure to find many such accommodations in this Australian city. Apart from staying here, you would also find these hotels perfect venues for weddings, conferences, and so on.

Cozy home like feel – you can opt for bed and breakfasts or self-contained cottages in this category. More apt for longer stays, this gives you a feel of home and does not overshoot your budget.

Affordable hostels – if you are working on a stringent budget, you need to find a cheap place for stay. Backpackers and hostels are the best in this situation, providing comfortable living with just the necessary amenities.

Rural retreats – if you wish to stay close to nature, a rural farmhouse is perhaps your best bet. However, this is not such a good idea if you plan to visit all Canberra attractions within a short time, as these retreats are at a distance from the city.

Camping in caravans – the numerous campsites give you the opportunity to have fun while you stay in a caravan. If you are visiting the city with your family, this is a good idea – your kids are sure going to love it.

Decide which category of accommodation suits your trip and then start looking for options. Book as soon as you find a good one to avoid hearing the dreaded – there are no rooms available.
