A Family Holiday in Magluf (Majorca)

A holiday in Majorca is fantastic for everyone. Couples love the beautiful island with it’s beaches, swimming and many water sports. It’s cafes and bars are great fun for the adults on holiday in a gorgeous location. This is the perfect place to get away from it all, and still have everything you need right there with you. Majorca is also a great place to spend a holiday with the entire family. Yes, this does include the kids!

Even though Majorca is famous for it’s fun parties and young tourists, it’s also becoming a fun place for even younger visitors. These visitors are the children. Families will find an endless supply of activities to enjoy together. There are now many attractions for them to enjoy and none of the children will ever say that they are bored.

For the family traveling together to Majorca, the best places to stay are on the less crowded beaches. Puerto Pollensa and Cala d’Or are perfect spots for kids to play while mom and dad can simply relax and take in the sun and scenery. The kids can play in the sand with their buckets and shovels and have plenty of room to build a sand castle.

For those families who still want to be somewhere with a little more action, the resorts of Alcudia, Magaluf and El Arenal will fill that bill. Some of these resorts have their own waterparks which kids love. The whole family can also go horseback riding and kids can enjoy go-karting.

No matter where the family decides to stay on Majorca, there are several attractions geared for the kids enjoyment. Marineland is located in Costa D’en Blanes and is a must-see that even parents will love. This park has the largest shark collection in all of Europe, several aquariums, and even a parrot circus.

For a waterpark that’s not located at a resort, there is Aqualand. With the slides, wave pools and even several rides to enjoy, the whole family will enjoy a fun time all day. If there are small children, the park has shallow water in Polynesia and Mini Park which parents can feel safe to have their kids splashing around.

A different activity that doesn’t involve water is the Palma Nova Golf Fantasia. This spot has three mini golf courses set among caves, waterfalls, tropical gardens and lakes. If that isn’t enough for miniature golf, there is an abundance of animal life right among the courses.

To really get more than just a glimpse of the island, the family can go hiking on Castell d’Alaro which is the island’s best hiking trail. It begins in Alaro and ends at a 15th century castle and even a chapel on a hilltop. The views here are spectacular and even the kids will appreciate seeing the island and the sea from this spot.

There is even a railway that rides along the coastline called the Soller-Palma railway. This is another activity for everyone to take in the marvelous views.

When it rains on Majorca, most of the kids can take advantage of the kids clubs that many hotels have to offer. There are also indoor playgrounds for those special days out of the sun.
